What are some reasons one should study the Old Testament?

The old testament show us how God promised a saviour and fulfilled it in the new testament. It shows us how God let His people and that He always keeps to His word.

A few reasons we should study the OT are:
1. To learn more about God
2. To understand our origin, meaning, sin nature, salvation, and more.
3. An understanding of the Old Testament is vital to properly understanding ourselves and the new testament.

The OT gives us the origin of life, God’s character, our character, salvation plan and our destiny. It explains evil in the world, and inspires us to live a holy life. The OT gives us our roots.

I believe the Old testament points to Jesus and reveals who God is and who we really are. The writers of the New Testament always referred to scripture of Old testament.
