Studying the OT helps us to understand the history of scripture and our need for Jesus. If we don’t study and understand the OT we have a hard time understanding the NT.

We need to study the Old Testament because that is the start of God’s plan for redemption. To learn the history of humanity and it’s fall. To learn how God initiated everything just have fallen man be restored back to it’s original state so that we can have fellowship with Him once again.

The Old Testament provides us with stories of people who were just as we are today imperfect and in need of a Savior. The Old Testaments demonstrates God’s love and gives us a foundation of faith to build upon. It give us the history of ourselves and physical creation and demonstrates God’s will to provide Himself a sacrifice in love to bring us back to Himself.
