What are some reasons one should study the Old Testament?

It gives us the Intel on Who God is. It sets us up for the New Testament.

I believe a few major reason why one should study the old testament is so that they can understand the background of the history and understand how it really unfolded and turned out to be.

The Old Testament talks of the coming of God as Christ while the New Testament shows the presence of God in our world. We begin to know God in much detail in the OT. We are prepared to meet Him in the NT.

The OT realves God and about man’s nature.

Old Testament – is the foundation for the entire Bible. And also we don’t need to separate the Old and New Testaments. Because it’s a whole God’s Word. The second as I mentioned before Old testament substantially influence our understanding of key biblical teachings.
