Reading the Old Testament is foundational to our understanding of who God is and it also helps us to see and understand the challenges that we as humans encounter while living life in this world. In reading the Old Testament we are given insight to how God created the world we live in and what His plan was and how it was ruined by sin and how God in His wisdom and grace planned to save us through His son Jesus Christ, from the power of sin and evil that spread to all mankind.

The Old Testament reveals to us our need for salvation. It points to Jesus and how he became the sacrifice that put a stop to all the ritualistic sacrificial practices. Many New Testament authors quote from the Old Testament.
