Since my brother’s death I have noticed that anxiety grips me at times. It’s a horrible panicky feeling that makes me very uncomfortable in my own skin. I panic over small things these days. Its three years now and I think it is time it subsided.
I was talking to the Lord about it and at that time was working through Dr Larry Crabb’s Soulcare programmes on Our Daily Bread University. Dr Crabb talked about having a ‘sacred curiosity.’ ‘Sacred curiosity’ is a way of helping tease out an event someone is talking over with you. It refers to asking gentle questions to improve understanding of what someone is going through.
I wondered if I could swap my anxiety for ‘sacred curiosity.’ I could be curious as to how God is going to resolve what I am anxious about.
When I do this my anxiety dissolves, and a sense of wonder replaces it. I know I have responsibility in each situation too, but I have a sense of expectancy that somehow God will reveal what he is up to. So far I have discovered that if I hang in there, God does show up. Often not how I expected, and often from out of left field, but unmistakably He shows up. -
When I worry I have to always go back to the fact that I am not in charge God is. This is one of the times that scripture becomes extremely important to me. There are so many verses to support the fact that He loves us and wants what is best for us. I also remember that this earth is not my home. I was never meant to be completely comfortable here. Nothing will be perfect this side of heaven.

The only way is God because I was down on my corner all alone nobody to check on me even if I try to become the ones who do check on them but if I put all of my worries on God I get to find something doing. So everything has to be on God

Reaching out to people and sponsors and support groups to help with discussions and accountability, and having to trust God in the midst of all the challenges and changes that was happening to me. Feeling overwhelmed wasn’t easy but talking about it to people that have your best interest at heart helped a lot. It is possible to be healed and set free from pain and anxiety God is good he definitely saw me through this valley that I was enduring for many years.

I have contacted ladies at the church and created a Missions Committee. My first source has been seeking answers in my Bible and increasing study time in the Word.
