Throughout the year I always make sure my attitude stays in a place where I can learn from others and experiences. You never get to a place where you know everything. I look for new strategies, read, take notes in church, and remember why I teach.

One of the best ways to encourage our students to be life-long learners is to make sure that we are also always willing to learn and grow. One of the ways I keep a mindset of growth is reading current articles and books about different types of topics, whether they are for spiritual growth, educational practices, or issues that we are currently dealing with in culture.

Research. I think that one of the best ways to keep growing is to keep learning, and doing research is a very important part of that. But i believe that the best research we can do is in God’s Word and to learn what his purpose for our lives is. And it’s a purpose that keeps changing as we walk though life. But even if it changes, the ultimate goal is to grow in His likeness to be a testimony for others

One technique I use to encourage a growth mindset in myself is taking notes as needed. Another technique or method is by reading books and subscribing to periodicals that focus on the various areas of education.

I am always trying to grow spiritually because I want to know God better. I know that if I grow spiritually in Christ I will be ultimately more effective in everything I do and that includes teaching in the classroom. I have never felt satisfied where I’m at I always want to grow. I spend time daily in the Scripture and listen to podcasts and audio books on the way to work that deal with many of the Biblical topics that we discuss in course. I keep up with the current news and trends withing Christianity as well as the secular world so I can be knowledgeable about what is going on and be able to address these things with my students.
