We have weekly Bible memory verses that are predetermined, but I have occasionally adjusted that memory verse for a particular week bassed on what is going on in the student’s lives. For example, there was a season when the students said unkind things to eachother during lunch/recess. I chose Scriptures that were both timely and topical. During this season, the memory verses included: Proverbs 12:18 “There is one whose rash words are like sccord thrusts, but the tongue of the wise bring healing.” There were more, and the intention was to demonstrate the truth and application of Scripture in whatever season one finds themselves. This was also an opportunity to see the reality of a fallen world and our sinful nature.

Give students a chance to explore and discuss questions related to the subject areas being taught that day or week (i.e. What do you already know about this subject? What would you like to know? What have you learned? How does it connect to Scripture? What do you think you might want to explore further?)

Students look up to their teachers which is why it is vital for them uphold the Scriptures and have good character. Modeling the value of the centrality of Scripture is one of the most powerful ways to impart this value to the next generation. One way I can do that in my classroom is pointing out in every subject the hand of God and connection to Scripture.

Even Jesus used to quote the scripture, we should use the word of God to bring heaven to earth, revelation to our reality.

You can use scripture to help students navigate situations to show them that when we need to figure out a problem we should turn to God and the Bible for the solution.
