What are some ways you can apply the concepts learned in this lesson in your classroom?

By being intentional about integrating scripture during class, scripture verses can address the idea behind the topic being learned. Additionally, a deliberate incorporation of scripture verses can address issues that in class, such behavioral problems and general ideologies of the world that are incorrect but have influenced the children.

By being intentional about my students learning Bible verses and saying them occasionally. We say the memorize verse from our weekly Bible lessons almost every day, adding new ones as we go.
By regularly bringing in Bible stories and Jesus responses to situations in the Bible into our classroom behavioral management issues.

I correct children lovingly in a developmentally appropriate manner. In the clime I teach, children under 10 are generally excused from taking responsibility when they make a poor choice such as lying, with the excuse that they are too young. I do not follow that pattern. I consistently correct them lovingly and respectfully. I was glad to read that corrections are scriptural and I will continue to do this.

We have our morning and afternoon (dismissal) scriptures which the students have learned to say every day. I will continue to do this. I am very intentional about connecting everything to the Bible; I believe this will help them to see the scripture as an important part of life. I will spend more time in the word to follow God’s example of being a scholar of the word and I will ensure to always refer to it in my discussions and interactions with the children.

Every morning, we start the day with Scripture. I use the YouVersion App with my students for the daily verses and clips of various and diverse teachers explaining the meaning and application of the verses. We discuss the meaning as a class and sign it in American Sign Language. This sets the tone of the day and incorporates the Bible daily.
