What are some ways you can apply the concepts learned in this lesson in your classroom?

The centrality of scripture in Christian education should be integrated into each subject we teach. A Biblical worldview is much more broad than knowing and understanding stories in the Bible, although, of course that is important. Just as Timothy was raised in the Word of God by his mother and his grandmother, we as Christian educators are to partner with parents to help raise their children in, and according to, God’s Word. Students should know the truths of God’s Word, not popular false “Christianese”, sayings such as, “God helps them who helps themselves”. Students who learn God’s Word and how to apply the truth to their own lives will be better equipped to defend their faith and reach the lost.

I plan to use more scripture across all content areas in my classroom next year. I want to make sure students can see and know the correlation between scripture and everyday life and learning.

When handling disagreements or behavior issues I can always go back to scripture for reproof and correction, but much more for teaching righteousness and forgiveness. It is so easy to just fall back on whatever the current methods of classroom management are without giving a thought to using God’s words to us. There are a lot of good methods currently being used, but they will all fail without grounding in truth.

The lesson talked about applying scripture to learning. Every lesson taught in the classroom can be related to scripture. When I teach the students, I make sure they know how important it is for them to not only remember scripture but how to use it in all situations of their lives.
