Scriptures need to be a part of the whole day, not just during Bible course. I need to get better at this and am looking forward to learning specific strategies and hearing is. It a strength of mine, but I am open and eager to learn!

I think as Christian educators we at times can forget to be intentional in applying scripture to everything we teach. It is easy to pick and chose which scriptures apply to certain lessons. I was challenged to apply ALL scripture; not just what may be in our Bible lessons for the day. I think it is important for us as teachers to show Christ like behavior and graciously speak truth through reproof and corrections. As a 1st grade teacher this is something that I do multiple times per hour. My patience can wear thin at times, but I pray that the Lord works in my heart to loving approach students as I strive to instruct them about righteousness.

To share scripture more with students. To invite them to study it on their own, with their parents, or with me to understand what it truly says. When students joke around with each other in a mean way, to gently and lovingly correct them to be more kind and encouraging to one another instead.

The answer to this question is actually infinite. We can use scripture in nearly every thing we do a Christian teachers. Specifically scripture can be used in encouraging better work ethic, deeper learning and in controlling behavior. We have a road map that we can share, and since scripture proves and sharpens scripture, we can use multiple verses to back up our claims as educators to make the bible come alive in the lives of our students. We can also use scripture for comfort and assurance in our students’ struggles.

I work vigorously and intentionally integrating Bible truths into all aspects of content. In math, we know from scripture that God is an God of order and sensiblity (1 Cor. 14:33) therefore, we can study patterns and place value in light of the way God created math. We study history and see it through the lense of what we can learn of God and ourselves when we walk with Him and not (Isaiah 46:9). I enjoy using timelines in my classroom to make scripture as much as historical fact as it shows us the character of God.
