The school that I teach at we do a Bible lesson everyday. As well as having a weekly bible verse that my students memorize. I also incorporate Bible concepts in my math and phonics lessons as well. Scripture is very important and we should use it in some way in our lessons everyday.

Teaching from the Bible is important and I intend to use lessons from Scripture within the framework of my lesson plans to reiterate the reasons behind the WHY we are who we are and WHY we are learning what we are learning

By applying more Scripture throughout the day as well as referring to Scripture that we have learned. Applying biblical worldview to all curriculum areas.

If Scripture is inerrant truth, profitable for teaching philosophy, righteousness, and loving correction, then there is no reason teachers should not be teaching Scripture in their classroom. Every major discipline in school has a philosophy behind it that can all come back to learning about who God is what his calling is for us. Scripture is a powerful tool in conveying these ideas to students.

During this lesson, it was reminded to us that Christ treated the scriptures as a central part of His teaching. Therefore, we should teach all of the books of the Bible and keep them at the center of our teaching. This makes me want to reflect even further on our current Bible courses, but also look at our elementary building block curriculum. I want our school to send out students who are grounded in God’s word.
Another concept mentioned was giving correction through grace, as well as speaking truth within that moment. This is something I want to hold on to as I work with students who might have had a larger behavior or parental concern. Grace is so important and being Biblically sound even through consequences are necessary when working in a faith-based educational environment.
