In teaching Literature, I need to make sure that I connect themes, characters, and other concepts back to the scriptures. Even to the point of focusing on a specific scripture. Dr. Frankenstein is haunted by the monster, much in the same way that Christians can be haunted by their sin. In the Great Gatsby, Nick Carraway tries to live in the past rather than looking ahead to the future. In the Old Testament, the Egyptians question the following of Moses, desiring to live the old way they used to. Everything needs to connect back to scripture.

I can apply the centrality of scripture to my classroom by teaching a Biblically founded curriculum. I can remember to teach from all areas of scripture and not just the books that are easiest to teach. I can make sure to not leave out areas of scripture just because they may be more difficult to teach or understand. I can remember that all scripture is God breathed and profitable to teaching. I can explain to my students the importance of scripture and use scripture to back up and examine any academic subject area I may be teaching at the time.

Instead of using a “worldly” explanation for why a student should do “this or that”, I should be armed with God’s Word. I should point my students to His Word – the guidebook of life. Often I have opportunity to “counsel” students in the midst of a lesson, I need to be prepared to give them a morsel of God’s Word, to help guide them in their decision making.

I try to apply biblical truths whenever applicable in my classroom. Going back to scripture time and time again is important-it grounds us all and gives the students a basis for behavior and expectations. As I mainly teach dance, I like to pull the verses about praising the Lord with dance and the joyfulness of this as a wonderful form of worship in life.

By incorporating the truths of Scripture in the lessons of the day. Maybe at the beginning with a little reflexion or even during a disussion of cecular subjet, I can intentionally take the focus of the conversation to what the Bible syas about that specific subject.
I also would like the Lord to teach me to speak the truth in love and to graciously correct my students when they have done something wrong.
