One way is to let students read Scripture aloud in the classroom. For example, I can choose a student to read a Bible verse on forgiveness after having read a story about forgiveness. Likewise, I can choose another student to read a Bible verse at the beginning of the day, letting God’s Word be preeminent in our course. Another way is to counsel students with Scripture. For instance, when one of my students exhibits anger towards another student, I can sit down with him or her and read particular Bible verses that address anger.

The best concept I can apply is being truthful to Scripture and to cling to the inerrancy and infallibility of His Word. Scripture is the starting point from which we build our beliefs as Christians. As Christians, we are accountable to how we handle, communicate, and live out His Word.

I love telling my students that they can know Truth and it’s available in the Scriptures because the true God chose to give it to us. I also continue to want to study the Bible deeply so that I can give them the hope, promises, and beauty of God and His Redemption plan found in the whole counsel of God.

In a postmodernism society that says truth is relative, I need to teach that the Truth is definitive. In John, while Pilate is questioning Jesus he asks, “What is truth?” People young and old ask this question daily and I need to be able to give a ready answer to this question that even Christian Educators are beginning to lose sight of.

As a Christian educator, it is my job to ensure that my students learn that the truth of scripture must be at the center of all of our lives. When I plan lessons, I make sure to always point back to God’s word and that all of our views must be rooted in what God instructs in the Bible. The world constantly bombards our children with beliefs that are contrary to the Bible, so it is crucial to lovingly guide the next generation of believers in the truth of scripture.
