Correction, the things that sometimes come out of my students mouth are so discouraging and sad.
How the treat themselves with a very low bar. That’s when I turn to the Bible, the power of words according to God’s word.

I also take verses to explain my students that their grades do not define them, but what God says they are.

One way is to use Scripture for teaching.

I teach in a Christian school and though one might think that the school is probably filled with ‘angels’, the reality is one of the most difficult challenge we need to face is to instill discipline in students’ behavior. Students said in a survey once that they are ‘fed-up’ with Biblical theories because it is presented too much, and how it is not applicable in today’s world. It really got the whole school thinking about how we as the school would be able to be more relatable to students in their approach. Engaging students in discussions on Biblical life applications I think is one of the ways we could address such issue while at the same time reminding them again to always refer back to the word of God.

I need more boldness when it comes to correction of behavioral sins within the classroom. Explaining to my students why we do not do or say certain things can be particularly helpful for them in their walks with Christ. I need to remind myself to always draw it back to love when doing so.

I can teach more from Proverbs. I need to include all the Holy Scriptures in my classroom.
