We could then discuss the reasons why they are true or false and find scripture to back it up. I could also have students act out ways to lovingly and truthfully respond to various circumstances in which God’s truth can be used to correct or instruct.
When I myself correct student’s behavior, I can make sure to use scripture or biblical principals to explain why the behavior needs corrected. -

I would also want to remind the kids that they are children of God and saved through Jesus Christ. There are so many amazing lessons to be related to life from the Bible. If there is a question, there is an answer in Scripture.

Throughout the unit, connecting back to the story, deepening understanding, and helping the student make connections to other areas of their life.

This doesn’t always mean students will like the instruction, but because I love them, I will refer to God’s truth, graciously telling them what they need to hear, rather than what they want to hear. I can exhibit joy no matter how difficult certain days might be, and when correction is needed, I can remember the example Christ leaves for us…. to provide correction lovingly, without being harsh or manipulative.
