I tend to deal alot with behaviors. When I am working one on one with a student it allows me to work with them to pray for guidance/clarity.

The best way is through modeling, of course. But I think it’s important to try and pull more current events, life, culture, media, etc. into the classroom. Then to analyze, discuss, debate, and apply a biblical worldview to these things. It needs to be demonstrated in this way.

When students ask my opinion, I can share with them what I think as I am a Christian. It affects the way I treat my students and I seek to do my best to teach them. I can share truth with them and pray God will open their hearts.

If you are a Christian educator looking to pass on a biblical worldview to your students, here are some strategies you might consider:

    1. Integrate Faith into the Curriculum:

      • Find connections between the subject matter and biblical principles.
      • Illustrate how faith is relevant to various academic disciplines.
    2. Model Christian Values:

      • Demonstrate Christian virtues such as love, kindness, patience, and humility.
      • Show how these values can be applied in real-life situations.
    3. Create a Nurturing Environment:

      • Foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages open discussion about faith and values.
      • Make students feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and questions about Christianity.
    4. Incorporate Scripture:

      • Include relevant Bible verses in your lessons.
      • Discuss biblical stories and their moral or spiritual lessons.
    5. Encourage Critical Thinking:

      • Teach students to analyze information from a biblical perspective.
      • Help them develop critical thinking skills that align with Christian values.
    6. Provide Opportunities for Prayer and Reflection:

      • Begin or end the day with prayer.
      • Create moments for students to reflect on how their faith informs their understanding of the material.
    7. Discuss Ethical Dilemmas:

      • Explore ethical issues from a biblical standpoint.
      • Engage students in discussions about how Christian principles can guide ethical decision-making.
    8. Service Learning and Outreach:

      • Incorporate service projects that allow students to apply Christian values through actions.
      • Organize community outreach programs to instill a sense of responsibility and compassion.
    9. Offer Faith-Based Counseling:

      • Be available to discuss spiritual matters and provide guidance from a Christian perspective.
      • Offer support to students navigating questions about faith and identity.
    10. Engage Parents and the Church Community:

      • Foster collaboration with parents to reinforce Christian values at home.
      • Connect with the local church community for additional support and reinforcement of faith.
    11. Celebrate Christian Traditions:

      • Incorporate Christian holidays and traditions into the classroom.
      • Use these occasions to teach about the significance of these events from a biblical perspective.

Remember, it’s crucial to be respectful of the diverse backgrounds and beliefs of your students. Create an environment that allows for open dialogue and understanding, and be mindful of the balance between instilling a biblical worldview and respecting individual autonomy and diversity of thought.

Not only do students memorize scripture, but we discuss scripture and how to apply it to our lives. My Middle School students are aware of things happening around the world and regularly ask to pray for these situations. When we read secular texts, we pause and address each moment in our reading that goes against what we are taught in scriptures, bringing the clarity found in God’s Word. Students are also encouraged to apply the lessons in God’s Word to their personal lives and relationships with peers. “They will know we are Christians because of our love for one another.”
