What are some ways you can help pass on a biblical worldview to your students?

With students consistency is important. The more we can apply the Bible to our curriculum, and to everyday situations, the more they will see that the Bible is applicable to all of life.

I teach in a secular setting, so I do not explicitly teach about the Bible or faith in God. I do, however, actively demonstrate it: During down time in the hall, dining hall, and my classroom have open conversations with fellow believers about God’s and share testimony of how I have experienced God at work in my life that week. Fellow believing colleagues and I meet to pray out loud in a classroom each morning. Students and other faculty that come by can hear and see us reaching out to God.

I can pass on a biblical worldview to my students through taking everyday moments and helping them see truths from God’s Word in them. I have Bible verses surrounding the walls in my classroom and I point to them from time to time to help them see God’s truths help us when we are having a good day or a bad day. I help my students understand I am still learning from God’s Word – I haven’t learned it all! I give them personal illustrations of what the Lord is doing in my life at the time. I also integrate God’s truths into every subject I teach to help them see the continuity.

Each week we have a Discussion Board relating our material to a Biblical worldview… how can we take the material of what we have learned and tie that to a Biblical worldview? What do find about this in scripture? I also do this during our classroom lecture.

We have weekly scripture verse that the students have to memorize. We talk about the bible and pray together. I remind them that when they do something wrong that they are forgiven and still loved. I also show them in how I interact with them. I let them know that they are important and that I care about them.
