I am fortunate to be the Spiritual Life Director at the school I work at. Part of my job is to have an open door for students to come and ask questions that they do not want to ask in front of the course. This has opened up several deep conversations about salvation, identity, and how to handle family issues all through a biblical worldview.

The way I can pass on my biblical worldview is living out my faith as an example to them. I need to be having real conversations with them outside of the classroom. I like to go to birthday parties, and I always ask my students, “What is one way you saw God work in your life this year?” If they can’t think of an answer, then I tell them something special I see in them.

I can pass my biblical worldview to my students, by teaching God’s word to them. Walking alongside them not just in the classroom but in their lives. Passing down the gospel to each and every student.

I can continue to ask God to help me be a Godly example of Christ’s love to my students. I can also ensure that every lesson that I teach points back to the truth of God’s Word.

As we discuss literary texts, it’s important to help students move beyond questions of plot to consider the worldview presented in complex texts. They then need to hold up those beliefs and values to the truth of scripture and consider the degree to which the wisdom of the world falls short. Having them continually practice this skill is important so that it becomes second nature.
