What Bible translation do you use and why? Do you use a different translation or paraphrase for devotional reading than you do for Bible study?

I use the NIV for devotional reading and Holman Study Bible for study and comparison.

I use KJV for my private reading and devotionals; for my classroom I use NIV because it is easier for the younger students to understand. In this course I will be using NIV.

I have used the NKJV for years and just switched to NASB 1995. Both are word for word. First is based on the textus receptus and second the critical text. I like the reading of the 1995 better.

I tend to use a variety (NIV, NLT, CSB) for study and devotion.

I do use several translations. I find NKJV is best for me in studying and then looking up words in my concordance. I use an easy read bible such as a grade 3 level to just read it each day, and I use NIV or other translation to cross reference if I want to hear the passage in another way. I may possibly use all of these bibles, not sure yet
