What Bible translation do you use and why? Do you use a different translation or paraphrase for devotional reading than you do for Bible study?

I mostly use NIV because I understand better than KJV, and I use NLT as the devotional.

I use the NIV because it is easy to read, and it speaks about God pretty clearly.

My favorite translation is NIV mostly. I consult other translation sometimes like NLT. In my devotion time, I use GNB. Good New Bible is brief and very simple English to understand.

I use a variety of translations during my Bible study time. My personal bible that goes everywhere with me is an NIV Bible with a concordance and cross-references. But when I study at home, I have many Bibles that I use often: an ESV Study Bible, an HCSB bible, a CSB devotional bible. I also have copies of other translations and paraphrases that I often use when I want to studying a passage deeply – usually splayed out over my while dining room table including: NLT, NIV Study Bible, the Message, RSV, ASV, AMP, KJV, NKJV, TPT, and ICB. For this course, I will probably use my NIV Bible.

I just bought the Matthew Henry’s Commentary Collection but the stuff I really needed was not included in the collection. I have an online website for the “What” and “Why.”

Which online site do you use? I like Bible Hub for the Interlinear Greek and Hebrew with the Strong’s concordance

I like to mix it up, I have memorized verses from different translations. Right now, I use the CSB for reading the bible through in one year. For this course, I’ve been using the NIV.
