What Bible translation do you use and why? Do you use a different translation or paraphrase for devotional reading than you do for Bible study?

I start with the King James version, then I’ll go into the Christian Standard Bible, then I may use The Passion Translation translation. I try to get better understanding of what I’m reading. I do use Our Daily Bread for devotional reading.

I use the Bible app when trying to get a better understanding due to it having other versions

I started with NIV but have switched over to the AMP. It helps me to understand the “mood” of the scripture.

I personally use NIV, this is the Bible used growing up and found commonly used amongst others. When I want to read in a different translation I use my Bible app so I can easily switch and compare. I found I do like NLT version as well.

I prefer a combination of KJV with NLT and Message Bible. For devotional I use the NLT regularly but would need to reference other versions to get a better understanding. For this course, I will stick to my NLT.
