I use NIV, ESV and NKJV.. to check if these translations are identical and are conveying the same idea. Yes, I use the NKJV for my devotion. I will use NIV and NKJV for this course.

I typically use NIV for study along with NKJV. I find using both of these really helps me to get a clear understanding of the Word of God.

I have three Bible translations I use for study:
    1. The ESV because it stays faithful to the original text, primarily being a word for word translation, but affording high readability.
    2. The CSB the balance of word-for-word and thought-for-thought translation gives accuracy and high readability.
    3. The Amplified Bible supports me in word study, making explicit the intended meaning of specific words (especially those that have diverse meanings in contemporary culture).

[Why does the context of the Bible as a whole keep us from only a partly accurate interpretation?] Because we see this big picture, but there is so much more that we don’t understand when we only look at the Bible as a whole.
