I use several, but mostly KJV, GNT, and the NMV (New Messianic Version).

As a kid my church used the KJV.

When I changed my life to following Christ the church I attended uses the NIV.

After searching for an evening service church they use ESV.

What I have learned is that although all are great English Bibles, my English and understanding varies. I have about 6 translations at home now along with 2 paraphrase Bibles.

I have read through the Bible in NIV. Next year I hope to read through in NKJV.

Probably my primary grab would be to NIV. However, if I know someone is using a specific version I will grab what they prefer to help follow / read along with them.

I use the NIV, the Good News, and the Everyday Bible. I use the NIV and the Everyday Bibles for Bible study. I used both for my devotional period. The Everyday Bible is more simplified for me.

I use several. I start with the ESV, but I have the NLY, NKJV, and frequently look to the Amplified for clarification.

I use the NKJV, NIV, NLT, and the AMP versions of the Bible. The NIV, NLT, and the AMP helps me with understanding what a passage is saying. I also use the NKJV Cultural Background Study Bible to understand the culture and the times in which the stories were written. I find that good commentaries such the Moody Bible commentary is helpful with understanding. However, I have learned not to lean too heavy on the commentary. I want the Holy Spirit to lead and guide me in my studies. For this course I will use the NIV and the NLT.
