What Bible translation do you use and why? Do you use a different translation or paraphrase for devotional reading than you do for Bible study?

I have been using the NIV Bible and I read daily devotionals. In the past couple of months, I have been studying the Bible with assistance of my Self-Study Bible Course by Derek Prince. I really enjoy this spiritual lead Bible Study book.

I use the new King James Version as a study bible&I use the new international readers version,I’ll probably be using both if needed

I use the New King James Version (NKJV). I have used this version since I was five. I do compare texts to multiple other versions for study purposes. When I get stuck on something I go to the Hebrew and Greek texts, and that’s when I usually find errors of translation, but I also found them in the other English versions I refer to as well. I will use the NKJV (with other Bible texts if needed).

I like to use the NLT version because I find it easier for me to understand. The type of Bible I have is the Student Life Application Study Bible. It has a lot of commentary information that helps understand each chapter along with illustrations and maps.
