What Bible translation do you use and why? Do you use a different translation or paraphrase for devotional reading than you do for Bible study?

I’ve traditionally owned NIV bibles, but purchased an AMP to utilize as well during study.

I use NIV because it is the first translation I got . And I do not use a different translation for devotional reading. I will use NIV for this course.

I have grown up reading and memorizing NIV so it’s what I’m most comfortable with over all. I have really enjoyed Holman Christian Bible for Study and then NLT for devotional reading as well. I will use the NIV translation for this course!

I love the NIV-it’s easy to read but very close to the original text. My study Bible is an ESV 🙂

I use the Amplified Classic. It helps bring out the deeper meaning in the original language. I like to cross reference translations when studying as well!
