I typically read either the Our Daily Bread or the Verse of the Day. I need to get back to journaling like i used to. I have fallen off with journaling my devotional time.

God’s word is the source of my peace , strength, and joy. I used to have a designate time to meet with God for devotion , but I allowed life to shift our time together. And although I still spend time with God daily , there’s nothing like longing to hear his word and be in His presence. Much like a child waiting for his or her father to return home from work or a long trip. Having a designated time gave me stability for the day, and peace for any challenge I may encounter that day. This lesson has made me reevaluate my life and re-prioritize my daily activities.

I use to lay down and be try to be comfortable but that makes me tired faster so I sit up and focus solely on the word and what it is saying . I would like to try to study with others to hear different opinions about what people think the scriptures mean and what it has done for them

I’ve used various books and guides including My Utmost for His Highest, Our Daily Bread, Tony Evans Devotional, Jesus Calling etc. I’ve also used short sermons online as a spring board. The sermons are just a few minutes long, not a full sermon (Dr Tony Evans). I’m really interested in listening more to God so He can speak to me and I can learn His voice clearly.
