What devotional methods have you used in the past? Which would you like to try in the future?

I have journaled my thoughts and prayers to God and read the scriptures daily, sometimes weekly,. In addition, I participate in an intercessory prayer group and prayer alone at various times. In the future, I like to pray more consistently daily, include my Fiance in the process, and set aside time for devotion and Bible study for the two of us.

I’ve read through the bible in one year, twice. I try to start my mornings with prayer as I find I am too tired at night to remember. I pray scripture when I don’t know what to pray. I play praise and worship music on my commute to work, church or even going on errands or trips. I’ve also used various devotionals. What I really would like to try is an online or video type of devotional where I can see and hear the devotional similar to the youversion bible app where I can see it, hear it and mediate on it.

I have tried many different things for devotional time but always seem to land with scripture. The tough part has been the discipline to do it consistently, as well as the ‘listening’ part seems harder for me. I am anxious to start up consistently again.

I choose a passage of scripture to read and focus on it during the day
