I’ve done devotion times during walks, driving, sitting quietly with Him and during my personal worship time. He’s there, in it with me, like He promised in His word – He never leaves you. not forsake you.

I have tried reading the Bible in one year, I stopped because I didn’t understand what I read and I was trying to hurry through the verses rather than absorb what they were trying to say. I began to read a verse or a few daily at my own pace. This has helped me. So far I have read Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Psalms, Proverbs, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Revelations. I have tried reading Youversion bible plans, our daily bread daily devotionals also. I continue to use them daily. I will continue to read the Scriptures daily and write some down.

I have come to learn that making time every day, 5 mins or 20 mins with God. I have learnt to read my daily devotional and read about it in the bible. I also read the daily email from Our daily bread devotional as well. I hope that in the future that I can keep making more time as in attending bible studies regularly as well as spend more time with Elders from the church, learning from them to guide me on my spiritual journey.

I have always included journaling as part of my devotion. As I journal I recall certain events that have transpired and allow me to pray about it and/or praise God for how He has used the event(s) for my good.
I used to do devotion first thing when I wake up but through the years because of varying demands made on me I would do my devotion at other times of the day or even skip it at times. I used to use a particular devotional guide like Our Daily Bread to help me. Nowadays I do not anymore. I listen to sermons online instead. However I think I want to go back to the good old habit of using a devotional guide; I have already got one. Set aside time first thing in the morning to pray and meditate on it, and then allow God’s Word to speak to me throughout the day as I anchor my thoughts on what I have heard from Him. In this way, I follow what St Paul has said about letting my mind dwell on what is good, true, pure, lovely..

I have used the 1year reading bible plan, also listening to the bible during the day while I work, also I find very useful listening to lectures, as for a set time is more challenging, because of my busy schedule, but I find that the best time for me is before going to bed.
