I have found that starting the day with God first thing in the morning a very helpful discipline. It helps to get up early where there is not yet many distraction to have that uninterrupted time in God’s Word and Prayer. I find using a devotional helps. Praying aloud helps too. At the end of the day, it is having that personal relationship with God that brings everything together.
I do not journal everyday, maybe on a weekly basis. In my experience, a certain theme or prompting tends to occur over a period of time as I spend time in the word. That is usually when I put pen it down to crystallise my thoughts.
Going forward, I hope to add more time in intercessory prayers while continuing to do what I am doing in my devotional time.

I have several devotional books and publications that I use daily along with other books that I read through.

“What devotional methods have you used in the past? Which would you like to try in the future?”
Devotional methods I used in the past were Bible reading and contemplating, and I would like to combine them with journaling.

Reading, some journaling, and reading new and different devotions, like women’s specific, topic, specific. a specific writer etc. I have read Utmost for His Highest through and still do sometimes and always learn something new. I would like to try some audio devotions and also a Journaling bible and compare those methods. I will say I have read our ODB every day since beginning my renewed walk with Christ and will always read it first. It is like my morning tonic! I receive the enhanced version with the reference verses and insight. It just touches my heart every morning.

Reading the Bible and journaling my thoughts and prayers is my favourite way to connect with God.
