I’ve found different things work at different times. Having an app, journal or book has been helpful. Spending time alone or out in the real worl has been too.

I use study books, written material, along with short videos. By breaking it up with different options, I find I learn something different each way. I have recently implemented using a concordance and I fully enjoy this as I can review each word of the Bible as it takes on a new meaning.

I use several devotionals in my early morning, Daily Bread, Dr. Jermimah, devotional from my church. and I have a journal that I write down what scripture speaks to me and I write a prayer about it

Years ago I used to study a verse or two but I would really dig into it, ie reading commentaries, doing word studies, etc. Then I would make notes on what stood out for me. Then I would write out my prayer to God, and then I would speak it out loud. I would then get quiet and wait to hear from God. Finally, I would find a good Christian song to sing to Him. But all this took me almost 3 hours! I no longer have that kind of time so I need to find a shorter version of this.

I have used the random Bible reading, which did not last long…
I am now trying to read/study the whole Bible within a year.
