I have tried using the “Read the Bible in a Year” method. I always start so strong but by the 2nd month, I have lost sight of the goal and begin to backslide. I want to try ODB as a guide to my devotionals but I also have a 5 minute Bible devotional for Women that I used to do pretty regularly but not at all. I need to commit to my growing my relationship with Jesus Christ and that will be the top priority for me.

I honestly expereince God best, when i see Him and his word alive in my life and when i try to practice his word in actual circumstances as they arise.

Reading and prayer early in the day before the events of the day while mind is fresh. Try a “freshen up” devotional during the day

I have tried several devotional methods but without much success. Then I decided to make the commitment to read the bible and/or study passages every day. I don’t set a particular time but as soon as I have finished the things that I need to do I go to a quiet place. This has been the best method for me.

I usually pick a read the bible in a year plan. It helps me to learn the actual Bible. I might want to try journaling with my daily reading.
