Both Hinduism and Buddhism teach of repeated rebirths, of dying in each life, and being reborn into another life based upon the life just lived. This placement is determined by how well you live your current life. The only salvation from this endless cycle is liberation unto Brahman. For the Hindu salvation is achieved by the way of works, knowledge, and devotion. For the Buddhist, escape comes from the attainment of the highest spiritual state, or Nirvana.

Buddhism is similar to Hinduism in that it teaches repeated births,
deaths, and rebirths. It also teaches the principle that personal
conduct in this life determines the nature of the next rebirth.

They do not see forgiveness or resurrection as being part of salvation. Instead, they focus on being saved from the cycle of suffering in life.
