they both agree in rebirth but to end that cycle they have to be better people

Both have the endless cycle of reincarnation.
Hinduism: The 3 Fold Path; works, knowledge and devotion
Buddhism: 4 Noble Truths; right views, right intentions , right speech, right actions -
Both Hinduism and Buddhism teach repeated births, death, and rebirths. They also believe that personal conduct in this life determines the nature of the next birth. Salvation for them is a liberation of the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.
Salvation, for the Hindu, can be achieved in one of three ways: the way of works, knowledge, or devotion.
Buddhists can escape from the cycle of death and rebirth through the attainment of the highest spiritual state. This state is called Nirvana in Buddhism.
