What do you hope to gain from this course?

I hope to learn how to integrate God’s Word in my daily class.

I hope to learn how to be intentional with integrating Biblical truth into my daily routine at school.

I want to learn some new ideas/tactics to relay to my team. I feel that I am a new- thinker in their eyes as a new person to Education, where I feel their approaches are out of date and boring. I like life and zest. I hope to gain some new insights to growth and help change the mindsets of some that are stuck in a non-growing period.

I teach Math 6 and Algebra. Every year my students have the opportunity to provide anonymous feedback to their teachers. There are questions on the survey about the teacher being a biblical role model and about how the bible is integrated into the class. At the beginning of the year, I give my little speech about how math is a wonderful example of how God creatively and rationally made the universe and creation using mathematics…then gave us the brains and ability to be able to discover these amazing connections in his creation. I pray over students before tests, and every lesson begins with a bible verse. But one of my 6th graders blurted out loud during the survey, “What does math have to do with the bible?” It seems that in the everyday teaching of math, not a lot. I hope to be able to gain a better understanding of how to convey to students the integration between the biblical worldview and the wonder of mathematics.
