Just an overview of the book is like in grade school we had to do book reports and answer the who, where, what, why, how, and when questions. For me, after doing the observation the commentary reads much better, then I read the scripture again. Finished.

When we ask the questions of the text and observe carefully the answers to the questions, we engage our minds and own thinking process to get to the answer. I think this helps us understand what is being communicated and what we are studying in more depth.
