It gives us a better understanding of how each book fits into the larger picture, where older books can offer a foundation of what is needed to better understand what is being taught in later writings.

It can be thought of as macro-observation of the whole book, and micro-observation of the passage in question. By asking the six questions, macro-observation forces us to delve deeper into the content.

Macro-Observation: Who, What, How, Where, When and Why steps/methods we are observing the whole book, investigating the whole Bible book. It enhances our understanding of the writer, what the book is about, location, provide the background, recipients & audience, etc after reading it several times it allows you to accurately interpret the single passage(s). If not- we may distort the meaning of individual passages the book contains. We can also incorporate the Micro-Observation portion to study by chapter, verse, paragraph(s) is easier to understand and breakdown the context of study.
