I think the 6 questions are good questions to help understand what we are going to read.

I think these six questions are important to understand what we are reading. If we do not understand the author, their purpose of writing, the circumstances, approximate date and reasoning then we risk taking scripture out of context.

All of these influence the meaning of passages in the book by identifying the writer, recipients, theme, organization, time and location of writing, and the purpose.

It gives context to the book. And good reporter would ask these questions to understand the story or situation.
