It’s somewhat like a framework and structure to help us understand the Bible.
-
Who tells who the author of the passage is. What relates what the writer is trying to tell us. What genre it is written in as well as what language gives insight on how to read the book. Where tells us not only where the writer and reader are but also in what part of the Bible the passage is in. When can help us see when in the Bible this book takes place, i.e., OT, NT, the beginning, middle or end. Is it during the exile or during the life of Jesus. Why tells us why the writer is writing the book.

They are the foundational questions to any understanding that we have. These are questions that we have been taught from the very beginning of our education and they still apply to all learning that we strive to understand.

The help to thoroughly extract the “foundations” of the book and by so doing the framework for interpreting the details when it comes to the micro level.

By answering each of the six questions who what where why win and how it gives you all the pertinent information that you need to understand who the writer was who he was writing to where he was and where were the recipients this gives you a lot of information as to why the book was written
