I think doing the macro helps better understand it. Some of the books in the Bible is not actually written by the book’s title. So knowing who wrote it, why they wrote it, etc., gives me a better understanding of it. I am more of the type of reader that I have to picture the story in my head with the looks of the characters. I also think that I was already use to this growing up, my schooling was based on this. We had to do this to understand it but then did it to also write.

They are a structured way of seeing how the Biblical books are layed out. They provide a proper context for the books such as how to understand what the setting and reason for the revelation God gave in each one.

Its important to know how a book fits into God’s complete story and how it contributes to the whole.

It forces us to slow down and understand the context and time of the story and how it applies and what everything means. If we did not understand context, the meaning of whole books could be misunderstood.

Every question that is asked and answered gives you a better understanding of what you are reading. If an individual gets the overall picture first, it is easier for them to understand the finer details with a more in-depth review.
