The questions help you to connect with the passages on a deeper level and not just on the surface. instead of glossing over you dive deeper into the passage and the mind of God through this author

I think who should also include which other books were written by the author. Some have themes that run through several of their writings. All of the questions help to build context, context, context.

Each of these questions ask us the learner and reader of the biblical text to look deeper into God’s word. It challenges us to seek answers, and ask deeper questions. It challenges us to look more closely at the world of the Bible book at its time, and gain understanding that is crucial to understanding how God and man operate together or not, and how they communicate to each other or not. These questions contribute to the understanding of the biblical text because it helps us as learners, hearers, and doers of God’s word become more invested in God point of view of the human race, the world, sin, and all that dwells within the sphere of God’s omnipresent reach.

Each of the six macro observation questions contribute to our understanding of the individual books of the Bible by giving us a clear overview that is concise and essential to understanding the passages contained therein. It allows us to have a proper understanding of the more in-depth and specific verses within the pages of any specific Biblical book. Without knowing these, any one of them in fact, one can easily misinterpret any portion of scripture. Therefore proper context is essential in Bible study.

Every question we ask of any topic always begins with one of these 6 ways. As we read through Scripture, it is important to ask questions so that we can learn more about God and his word. I liken it to a child who seeks to understand a new concept or subject. They will (or should) often ask questions to gain a better understanding. Studying Scripture is no different. We should ask questions so that we gain a better understanding of God and what He is telling us through his word.
