Without a knowledge of how Scripture defines love, and seeing the example of how God demonstrated love to us through the giving of his son, we can not truly love here on earth. Therefore, the love a Christian shows to others is based on the truth of the word.

Truth is a foundation for love because we can experience sacrificial kindness from people who do not want to fill their lives with lies. We can give ourselves in love when we are confident that the cause is true and reliable.
