Our culture would have us believe that the only way to “love” people is by promoting their sin, or allowing them to live in a way that’s contrary to God’s Word. Loving them would actually be to correct them in truth and grace, and guiding them towards the principles that are in God’s Word. God warns us against sin because it harms us and those around us. It’s not meant to prevent us from having “fun” but to protect us. Truth and trust in God’s Word must be the basis for how we teach and how we live our lives.

When we have real understanding of truth, we can not help but to love.

It is important because Jesus was love. Loving one another is living out the truth that was shown to us in Christ. He loved us so much that he laid his life down for us. There is no greater love than this. As followers it is important that we understand this so that we can truly love people. Love is a choice, not a feeling and we should act as such.

“Truth” is referred to as the word. His love transcends anything we can imagine.
