We are told to love as God first loved us. This is important because we are all sinners and all need forgiveness.

Our society likes to define love and truth in a variety of ways. But when we love others, as Christ loves based on the truth of the Bible, it creates a solid foundation.

To truly love one another is to desire God’s best for the other person and place their needs before your own. That best can be simply thought of as God’s will. Hence, God’s very best is always God’s will. Never will God’s will contradict His truth (Word).

Jesus tells us in Scripture to love one another. Because it is in scripture, it is truth. It’s important to understand that anything coming from Scriptures is absolutely truth.

Loving someone is not letting them do whatever they want so as not to offend them. We build strong relationships with people, and in loving ways point them to the Truth that Christ gives us that is necessary for right relationship with God. We read in Scripture how Jesus embodied loving people deeply and well, but calling them into truth as He did so.
