However, we need to remind ourselves that we need to first and foremost puts Biblical truth above all things. Loving someone also means that we should be able to address the wrong and instruct in righteousness.

Through the love of Christ, God’s Word, and guidance of the Holy Spirit we are able to understand what love is. Love is an action, not a feeling that overtakes us. When we actively show our love, we desire to correct and instruct other believers. If we love our students, we do not want them in danger. If they are unsaved, we want to guide them to the love of God and His kindness. Romans 2:4 says that it is the kindness of God that leads to repentance. Kindness does not always mean nice. Sometimes in order to be kind, we must speak God’s saving truth in grace to our unsaved students. For our students who are saved, loving them in truth will look like correction when they are in sin. Sharing Scripture to help them learn to guard their hearts when they are tempted, praying with them, and continuing discipleship is loving based on truth.

The world acts like it comes up with these fantastic ideas, and then changes them from their first Biblical meanings. -

We want our loved ones safe, wise and able to make the right decisions. Instructing them is one way to assist with that love.
