Biased counsel is anyone who stands to gain from our financial decision. Anyone with a slant or stake in the outcome of our decision. It can be another person or organization.

It is likely more counselor-serving, and intended to reflect the counselor’s mind set or lack of genuine concern, knowledge or truth; than what is most beneficial for the person being counseled. The advice likely comes with pressure or guilt if not followed.

Biased advice comes from those who benefit from the advice they are giving more than the one seeking the advice.
