Dr. Black is saying that our generation need more than academic learning. They also need to know about God and how they can use scripture in their every day lives to live a righteous life. Teaching in a Christian school gives the teacher the ability to train students how to read God’s word, live by God’s word and to stay close to the word as they go through their lives.

Essentially, we want students to have critical thinking skills, and enough knowledge to comprehend and analyze everything they hear.

The student's souls were made for eternity and when they accept Jesus as savior, God also gives them a calling here on earth. We want them to fulfill that calling to the best of their ability, with the best skills they can learn so they can use them to pass their Christian beliefs from generation to generation.

As educators in a Christian school, we should have high expectations for our students both academically AND spiritually. In that, we, as teachers, need to provide the students with information and resources to make discernments.

Society needs men and women of faith, good moral character, and clear understanding of right and wrong. School should be a place where this is modeled and taught. Public schools took God out of the classroom and now are faced with trying to figure out how to teach good citizenship while also affirming that kids should do what they feel is right.
