We are preparing students to follow Christ. We are training the next generation to stay close with God in the midst of a ever-falling world.

We must teach our students to be able to think critically, and be competent in academic situations, but to also be able to defend and integrate their faith into their academics as well.

I believe she means that we all have a spiritual purpose in life, not just learning, working, and dying. Christians can be placed in nearly every type of career and we must prepare to fulfill God’s calling in our lives wherever we are. We need the education for the world’s requirements, but also for leading others to eternal salvation.

We are there to teach them academic subjects, but are also being called to something higher and that is to educate them on eternity. While yes academics are important, by being at a Christian school we are also there to make sure they are productive, Christian members of society.

Dr. Black says God leaves us here to make a difference in this world and to influence people and prepare them. This suggests our role is also to bridge the Bible with our every day living in the ability to perform tasks, have creative thinking, reasoning etc, understanding we don’t live just for the now but for the hope in tomorrow that God gives us.
