What does Dr. Teague mean when he says, “Integration was never the legitimate starting point for a godly pedagogy”?

I believe that Dr. Teague meant that the beginning should always be a foundational understanding of God and his creation. Godly pedagogy needs to start with a personal understanding and mindset shift to God and his teachings. This mindset and personal commitment to Christ enables the integration of biblical understandings to make further since in the collection of knowledge.

The starting point is God’s Word, and the careful and intentional application to learning and life, overall.

That the Bible should be the beginning for a godly pedagogy

Because a foundation in Christ and knowledge is the key ingredient.

Integration as a starting point, is like working from the outside in. Instead, we need to work from the inside out. We must transformed by God’s Word and then have it flow out of us, as opposed to trying to sprinkle it on top of what we happen to be doing.
