The order is wrong if we begin with integration. We should begin rather with the foundation of God’s word. That foundation and subsequent relationship with God should be the starting point. Otherwise, our house is built on sinking sand.

Dr. Teague meant that we need to have a personal foundation of the Word built and established in our own lives. We do not simply weave in Bible verses where needed, but our values need to grow out of a love of God’s word in order to integrate it into all of our teachings.

Dr. Teague emphasizes that a truly godly pedagogy starts with a solid grounding in biblical truths, informing and shaping the integration process rather than starting with integration itself.

Knowledge of God’s word has to be the starting point for a godly pedagogy because it creates the sound foundation and platform to build education upon. Otherwise, we fall prey to the changing tides of societal traditions, historical/genealogical accounts and inaccuracies, cultural norms, and all the things that the Apostle Paul states will lead to arguments and division instead of building up the body in love.

We need to start with the knowledge of God’s word. I have found while I am soaking in scriptures the Holy Spirit reveals passages that I need to connect to my lessons.
