It’s all about eternity. Today, the here and now, is not the focus. You need to live your life focused on your plans and ideas. Your plans and treasures will disappear. You need to live a life holy and pleasing to God, fulfilling his purposes and plans. You do not know what your life will be like tomorrow, it is but a vapor. We cannot waste the time we have. Psalm 90:12 says “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Just as was taught in the first lesson. Focus on God gain the wisdom. Gain the forgiveness and freedom. Gain the salvation to live forever with Christ in eternity. We may not have tomorrow, but we can have forever in eternity with Christ, gathering with others to forever serve the Lord.

Anyone can achieve earthly “success.” If that is all we are pointing our students towards, we are falling far short of our purpose as educators. The greatest thing we can instill into our students is a love for God and a relationship with Him that will give them spiritual blessing regardless of their path or level of “success” in life.

I feel it relates to Proverbs 22:6. Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

What we instill in students will shape who they become. Who we are is not just momentary, but eternal. As beings created for eternity, either with God or apart from Him, we are making decisions that impact eternity every single day. We are either building up lives with precious metals or building up lives of hay and straw. Who students become in our classes will be reflected in who they are in the life to come.

I believe that she is reminding us that our words will have an eternal impact of our students.
